International Baccalaureate World School (IB)

In 2014, Vista Academy applied for IB Candidacy, and in 2017, Vista Academy was authorized as an IB World School featuring the Primary Years Programme (PYP). We were reauthorized in 2022. The foundation of Vista Academy’s academics is centered on teaching and learning within the IB PYP, an inquiry-based approach focused on transdisciplinary learning, reflection, learner agency, and taking action. Students’ learning is grounded in real-world connections, challenging them to make an impact in their local community and around the world. Our IB Coordinator facilitates weekly teacher collaboration meetings to reflect on, design, and implement units of inquiry, and relevant learning experiences for all of our students.
